Travelling to Turkey
Flights can be arranged for you, if you wish, or you
may prefer to make your own arrangements. Dalaman airport is within
30 minutes and the new international terminal is now open. This is
the largest airport in the region and is accessible from most regional
UK airports - including Bristol, Birmingham,
Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff and Exeter. The Internet now makes it
easy to find and compare good flight times and competitive prices.
I would recommend typing in cheap flights to Dalaman, followed by your
local airport name. Also try www.thomsonfly.com, www.flythomascook.com www.xl.com or www.travelrepublic.co.uk among
others.
Transfers can be arranged for our guests at a
very reasonable cost. Taxis are available from the airport, or transfers
can be organised in advance, at a cost of approximately £30 to £35
each way.
Car hire can also be arranged at reasonable rates
for guests who wish to tour Turkey and explore the beautiful interior
with its historic
and archaeological sites. This is not essential as there are good local
tour companies offering many excursions. Public transport is in the
form of local minibuses, the Dolmus, which runs frequently and can
be hailed down anywhere along their fixed routes. These are incredibly
cheap. Taxis are readily available. It is easy to hire bicycles and
as the area is flat it is a pleasant way to get around. The coast road
to Fethiye is traffic free so this is an especially nice ride.

The
Turks are deservedly famous for their warmth, hospitality and the
generosity of their welcome.
The cost of living is low, the quality of fresh, local food is very
high and the Turkish wine and beer excellent. When eating out, there
is a huge variety of reasonably priced food on offer to satisfy either
the most simple or sophisticated palate.

Climate
Calis has a very mild, sunny climate. The rains that come in January
and February provide a welcome change from cloudless skies. Even at
night, temperatures in winter rarely drop below 10 degrees centigrade.
Away from the coast and up into the mountains, temperatures
are lower and for a large part of the year snow capped mountains
provide a beautiful backdrop.
Average daytime
temperatures and typical weather conditions are given in this
table.

Reviews
'Our week at Villa Diana was great. We arrived at the
Villa at night and we thought the gardens around the pool looked
especially pretty as they were all lit up. We found the villa to
be immaculate and had everything we needed. Best of all we loved
the big pool. It was just right for swimming lengths and the water
was always clear and inviting.'
'It is so gorgeous at your villa, the location is beautiful and central for
everything, and the villa is very tastefully decorated. Most days we have stayed
by the pool in the morning and then we go to the beach in the afternoon. We
went on a lovely boat trip around the islands and swam in the turquoise sea
into a cave. (See photo.) It is so relaxing, we wish we could stay forever!'
